About Us

Sustainable Wellbeing

The Sanctuary Marbella is passionate about the community. We want to make a positive impact in the world around us and are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our business to the best of our ability without compromising our guests’ experience. We believe that consistent small decisions shape the bigger picture, and we regularly review our policies and practices.

Clean

• Sourcing local produce and organic food where possible, creating less soil and water pollution which is not full of chemicals and pesticides.

• Creating our menus and juices with seasonal fruit and vegetables which is at its best and picked when it is ripe and at its most nutritious.

• Our retreat wellness plans are heavily plant-based focussed which is high on human health benefits and low on environmental impacts.

• All our beauty and bath products are sourced using high performing products formulated with ingredients of natural origin and not tested on animals.

• All our towels are 100% organic cotton.

Conscious

• We recycle and are mindful to minimise consumption and waste.

• All our packaging is 100% recyclable or biodegradable.

• All our juices are served with metal / glass straws.

• All our hot water is powered entirely by solar and our lighting is operational on PIR systems to assist in lights not being left on unnecessarily.

• We educate all our staff and guests to be mindful of our protocols and ways to take care to save water, light and heat at our premises.

• We have a water filter system for our guests and we encourage the use of reusable water bottles and do not provide water from plastic bottles.

• We refrain from using single use plastics. Any plastic materials that are used on site are from recycled materials and BPA free.

• Our offices are paper free and we only print where absolutely necessary.

• Working in the travel industry we are aware that we need to look at as many ways as we can to reduce our carbon footprint. We consciously support verified carbon offsetting projects to counteract unavoidable emissions.

• We also encourage our guests to offset the carbon emissions from their air travel by donating money to support renewable energy projects and reforestation.

Caring

We support different charities at different times that contribute to improving the well-being of people and create better lives for generations to come. This year we will be supporting The World Food Programme.

WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.

We will also be donating our retreat weeks to support various other charities that are close to our hearts such as Cancer Research UK and St Peters Hospice.
